For young people to engage successfully with their community they need opportunities to build self-esteem, social skills, independence and confidence.
Using a strength-based approach, we facilitate social groups for kids and young adults on the spectrum who are aged between 10 to 30 years of age. In our social groups, our members connect and build friendships whilst engaging in activities that interest them. They also learn new life-skills such as computer coding, public speaking, art and film-making.
We’re also here for you and your family. Autism West is a place for you to develop your own support network and connect with other families. You can take advantage of our information resources and education opportunities, including our annual Autism West Symposium. And our advisory services will help you work out where to go and who to turn to for the support you or your child needs.
Our partnership with Curtin and Deakin Universities has resulted in a ground-breaking new autism therapy app called TOBY (Therapy Outcomes By You), a groundbreaking early intervention app designed to teach parents how to easily embed autism therapy into their daily routine. The play based activities are aimed at 2-4 year old children with autism.
