The objectives of the Association are:

  • to assist in the protection and development of the cultural, spiritual and religious beliefs of Aboriginal people with disability;
  • to promote greater tolerance and respect of the culture of Aboriginal people with disability;
  • to help improve the economic, social and cultural status of Aboriginal people with disability;
  • to promote to government and non-government service providers the needs of Aboriginal people with disability;
  • to promote to government and non-government service providers the medical and healthcare needs of Aboriginal people with disability;
  • advocating on behalf of Aboriginal people with disability, particularly where their rights have been infringed;
  • promoting access to proper and adequate representation of Aboriginal people with disability on all bodies which make decisions that affect their lives;
  • encouraging the development and co-ordination of local and regional networks of Aboriginal people with disability;
  • providing information, advice and practical assistance to any Aboriginal person with disability whose personal circumstances require such services. The services shall not be limited to Members of the Association;
  • fostering communication and cooperation with other community organisations with similar aims;
  • all such things as are lawful and conducive to the attainment of the aims of the Association.
